Abstract
The article deals with eating behavior as a complex multi-level object of study. It was defined the role of eating behavior in the homeostasis mechanisms. A clinical typology of eating disorders and their description are presented, based on the main statistical classifiers of diseases – the International Classifications of Diseases of the 10th and 11th revisions (ICD-10 and ICD-11) and the fifth edition of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Mental Disorders (DSM-V APA). In the article there is a comparative table based on the current versions of these disease classifiers. The main problems in the field of psychological diagnosis of eating disorders are described. Special attention was paid to the issue of systematization of methods for the diagnosis of eating disorders, as well as the problem of differential psychological assessment of eating behavior in normal and pathological conditions. The article presents the analysis of domestic empirical studies in the field of eating behavior. The state of psychological assessment tools for studying the problem is described in full.Downloads
